brake worn-out from 60,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
I am a motorist. I purchased my car 4 month ago. It is a second-hand car. The preowner said he changed his brake 1 and half years back. In the autoshop,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they explained the brake had 60% life left. I got myself that car. In past 4 months,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I learned to drive. I must say I possibly could not drive as careful being an experience driver but I did not smash my brakes all the time. two days ago when I went to change my tires, they explained that my brake only has 6% left. In this 4 month,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I only drove 500 miles. They reflatted the rotor and changed the brake fluid for me. They told me the uneven surface of rotor and dirty brake fluid shortened the life of my brake. Anyway,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I just wonder how it is possible to worn out a brake from 60% to 6% with 500 miles. Is there any problem hiden? Thanks
Can you trust the repair shop? They might took benefit of you and just said these were worse then the things they were simply to charge you more income, still it happens,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], tho much less.
When the brake "rotors/drums" were grooved real bad and also the previous owner didn't "reface" the brake "drum" or disk brake "rotor" before he put the brand new ones on it could chew the brand new pad/shoes up pretty fast,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
But when these were changed a year and a half ago they wouldn't of had 60 % left when you purchased.
If the car have been setting for a couple of years then your brakes might have rusted a bit and never have opened all the way coupled with been slightly applying the brakes. Would you smell anything "hot" or perhaps a sour type smell when you got out of the car following a longer drive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]?

I hasn't tried a long drive yet since I bough the vehicle,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I have not smelt anything or heard any noise,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I did not suspect my brake pad has any difficulty until I went to change my tires in Kauffman. I have to say the preowner should have bought cheap brake pads because the front tires worn-out with 500 miles too (they weren't very good but decent) when I bought them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The autoshop doesn't have reason to mislead me after i did mechanic check there using the preowner. They did let me know the brake pads have 60% life left and now only 6% life left,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
