Norwich City striker Simeon Jackson rumoured to be a transfer target for Wolves,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
New manager Dean Saunders has made signing a striker his top priority. The Championship club's head of development and recruitment, Kevin Thelwell, watched the 25-year-old Jackson in action in Saturday's goalless draw against Newcastle.
Jackson has scored three times in 15 appearances for City this season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], his latest goal coming in the 3-0 FA Cup win at Peterborough.
The Canaries are also reported to be rivals with Ipswich for keeper Lee Camp, who can leave Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. Camp, 28, made three appearances for Norwich during a three-month loan spell in 2006,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but one national newspaper claims Town boss Mick McCarthy hopes to tempt him with a better chance of first-team football. Camp was dropped for young Karl Darlow as Forest beat Peterborough 2-1 on Saturday.
Swansea striker Danny Graham, linked with the Canaries, is keen to hold talks with Sunderland, according to The Sun. QPR and Reading are also reported to be chasing Gateshead-born Graham, who is said to be keen to return to the North East.
Irongloves! I do think about it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in depth. Snodgrass is a LEFT WINGER. He was bought to bring service by way of accurate crosses to Holt, not to be our No1 striker. He is just clogging the penalty area up. Holt now doesn't receive a decent cross from him or Pilkington,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], because he too is helping with the clogging. Hoolahan has no one to pass to creating the delicate through balls to the wings, cause there is no one there. Norwich City's forward line has become no better than a schoolboy show. They ALL need to be given a work zone, and told what their responsibilities are, and it's NOT Left Footed players operating in the inside right position!Bring back Drury!
I will be incredibly sad to see Simeon go. The lone striker role is not for him as he is not built for it, however as part of a duo up front he can be sensational. He always had a habit of being in the right place at the right time. If he did go then I would harbour no hard feelings about him whatsoever - what choice does he have at the moment?! I cannot see the formation changing at all so that puts Simeon in the shade. He could be a vital part of Wolves turning themselves around. As for new signings in general, I perfectly understand that there is no doubt A LOT of to-ing and fro-ing going on behind the scene, it would be very interesting to see the list of names we've approached so far! Whilst I am confident that the right player is being sourced, CH needs to start getting his bottom in gear if he's not to repeat the fiasco at the end of the summer transfer window! OTBC
Jackson has not been given the rub off the green this season hence it may be that others are looking at him. I have watched all the games, albeit from a distance, but I cannot help but wonder whether Jackson used in the right way is part of plan B? We seem to be now in the situation where players are going missing more and more and the opposition are not allowing us the free kicks where we can score from. Another keeper no, for if Arsenal are going to give us silly money then keep Jackson and add another striker! In the past we have done transfers out of the light of the media I hope that is the case now. OTBC
I'm a bit confused,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a speculative article about a rumour that someone may have offered the club money for Jackson seems to have kicked off appalled comments about us letting him go. Have the club actually received an offer? If so have they accepted it? As far as hearing what strikers we are after I'd be a bit worried that we fell into the same trap as Liverpool did, "oh they've just sold a striker for silly money and need to replace him, let's double the price of our pony tailed carthorse as they have silly money".
Interesting that Mellow Yellow,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a big fan of Snodgrass, singles him out for maximum points
Snodgrass has scored 5,( Mainly from Free kicks). Gosh! That's 2 more than Bassong. Surely he was bought to provide service to Holt. Instead we now seem to have too many cooks in the kitchen, and it isn't working. Mr Hughton, I cannot believe that you or others in your office do not read some of the comments posted on here. To ignore all of them until you are desperate, as the Hoolahan re-instatement showed, does not make sense. Come on here under a false name as we all do, and air your problems!!
At present most teams are bringing players,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], keeping top flight status is essential this year and I believe the club fully recognises this!! There is a lot of smoke and mirrors in this transfer window,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], none more so than NCFC. I am sure we have identified targets and are working hard behind the scenes and keeping the media out. We should not be looking at keepers, there is enough cover here,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we all know we need improve our goals for column. My main concern at this point is other teams are picking up points and our breathing space is disappearing. The next three games, Liverpool (a), Spurs (h) and Man Utd (a) don't look too promising and our position may not be so healthy after this. But OTBC let's get behind them and pray we get some surprise news on the transfer front.
Stu, I have to ask,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], what exactly are you talking about? .6 players?. Dynamite?
CH is hardly the next Pep Guardiola however he has sent us on a 10 game unbeaten run,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we are currently mid table (where we want to be right?), the games we lost over Christmas where only by one goal ( that certainly didnt happen last year), the players brought in over the summer have been excellent at times and a midfielder called Snodgrass (shock horror) scored some goals when our strike force wasn't up to it.
Lets be realistic here,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], our squad is still punching above its weight and until we can afford overpriced mid table players we should be positive about what we've got and try to build on it.
It's all a big worry really. If we played a different way with more players up front Jackson would be spot on,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Quick and swivels on a sixpence. Letting him go makes me wonder just what our attacking plans are and where our goals our going to come from. Swansea and Southampton have much scoring options than us. If we are going to play with one 'big boy' up front our midfield are going to have to up their skill levels re. shooting and crossing. I've got a horrible feeling that this is all going to end very badly,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
