Report: Mike McCoy new Chargers head coachSAN DIEGO, Jan. 15 () -- Denver assistant Mike McCoy has been hired to be the new head coach of the San Diego Chargers, sources told U-T San Diego.McCoy, the Broncos offensive coordinator since 2008, will replace Norv Turner, who was fired at the end of the season along with General Manager A.J. Smith.The newspaper said the Chargers apparently decided to go with McCoy prior to interviewing all candidates.
