Hiking Shoes with Performance and Pizzazz
The hunt for the right hiking shoes requires some care and consideration. Basically, you need to know what you're asking of your footwear in terms of performance, comfort and style. They're not as heavy duty as massive-soled boots that lace up to your shins. These are the shoes you want to slip into on your way out the door for a casual walk in the woods (which may involve an occasional incline or two).
As snazzy as some options on the market may look,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that won't amount to a hill of beans if they don't perform well during treks on various terrains. Even a low-impact backcountry amble can throw random roots, rocks and puddles in your path. And if you decide to get adventurous and tackle a more advanced trail, you want to make sure your hiking shoe doesn't leave you slipping and tripping.
It's not very often you see a full-leather low-cut hiking shoe that performs like a full-size boot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but leave it to Patagonia to figure out how to do that. The Patagonia Men's Drifter is remarkably stable and can handle uneven terrain without the constant fear of turning an ankle. Yes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it's got a trail-gripping Vibram sole and waterproof construction on the outside,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it's what's on the inside that got my attention.
All parts of the innards of this boot are made with some amount of recycled materials for the environmentalist in you. But the materials are not only green, they are moisture wicking and have odor-control properties. So if your feet are prone to stink and sweat,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], these shoes will help you stay cool and fresh as a daisy. While these hiking shoes won't give you all the support of a full-size boot, they'll make up for it by being lighter, which means they're perfect for summer camping. It is lighter than most full-fledged hiking boots but feels just as rugged. Overall, they are an attractive pair of shoes that easily camouflage themselves as casual sneakers that can be worn around town. I like traveling light, and the 1520 is the only shoe I took with me on a recent weekend adventure. I was able to run comfortably along a rocky trail, do a little climbing and still make it back to town without having to switch shoes before heading to a birthday bash.
The engineers over at New Balance set out to design a multi-sport shoe, and as a result,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there's a groove along the outsole making them gaiter-friendly and the forefoot lugs are bike-pedal compatible. The patented Vibram® sole allows for maximum contact and traction with the ground, and the shoe is made with GORE-TEX® XCR® which is the fabric that offers breathable waterproofing. The shoe fits a wide foot well and is cushioned with an enhanced comfort Ortholite insert on top of a fairly stiff sole. It's a rugged design that will likely survive a variety of conditions and off-road uses.
You can take these out of box and hit the trails without any major break-in period. The multi-shade tans and grays look stylish and clean up quickly, so these can be used to make transitions from sidewalks to fields to trails,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and in and out of cars, without a mess. In fact, they wear more like a sneaker than a hiking shoe, and run true to size. I was ready to hike as soon as they were laced up. The boot's claims of great flexibility and support around the toes and ankle were true. They felt comfortable and provided a good foundation for the entire foot, ankle and arch.
They boast Vibram soles and an Impact Brake System enabling them to handle any terrain well. Since they're water resistant and warm (Gortex), I'd even wear them around town on a wet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], snowy day. On a hike,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the soles are rugged enough for slippery conditions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and the body can handle a little moisture. I put this shoe on and couldn't believe that it was a hiking shoe. It's so comfortable, I found myself opting to wear it in everyday, non-hiking situations. I would say that it reminded me more of a running shoe in the way that the thickness of the sole decreases from back to front.
These shoes are also extremely light,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so I probably would not wear them for heavy-duty hiking. They're perfect,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], for light trail hiking or even light trail running. It can take you from navigating a backwoods trail to scrambling up a rocky face to hanging out at the sports bar with your beer in hand.
The S'Presso has a snug and secure fit and requires a minimal amount of break-in time. They're extremely supportive yet flexible all at the same time. The snug fit and good arch support left my feet feeling great after full days of hiking some rough terrain,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], walking around my neighborhood or even just following my wife around the mall. My feet stayed dry, even after splashing through a puddle or two. The Gryptonite soles of the shoe provide solid traction,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], assuring that where I plant my foot is where my foot stays.
On the trail or mountain side, these contemporary grey, black and yellow shoes will certainly stand out and make you look like you know what you're doing.相关的主题文章:
