I found anything goes as far as conversation is concerned and the food I was served was delicious. However unlike in Ireland where you get a large plate of food, you get a small plate and there are many different dishes laid out for you to try. Ukrainians take there time eating helping themselves to many plates of food with interval chutchuts of vodka, or champagne. If you do not drink I found that declining a drink was okay and not the faux pas I was led to believe. So dont wolf down your food take time and leave some room for the cakes (outstandingly good cakes). If invited to a dinner bring some wine/champagne or fresh fruit or a cake.
