when changing brakes all kinds you only take apart 1 side at a time (take a pic before dismountling) so you can see where all srpings . ect go,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],then just get it done
All drum brakes are basically the same. There is a spring between the two shoes at the top and the bottom. Take the top one loose first and then the bottom one. There is a keeper in the middle of the shoe ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a washer with a cross in the middle with a spring under it that has a pin in the middle. Hold the pin on the back side and push down on the washer and turn it one quarter of a turn. This will let the washer off of the pin. This will let the shoes come off. The emergency brake is connected to one of the shoes and is held on with one pin. The emergency brake arm has to be transferred to the new shoe. Usually the lining on one shoe is longer on one than it is on the other. Match up the new ones with the old.
The easiest way to do brakes is to lay a large cloth or towel or an piece of plywood under the wheel and lay the pieces out in the position they came off. At the top of the shoes is the star adjuster. A bolt looking thing with a notched disk on the end that fits between the two shoes. This will need to be screwed in before you put the drum back on. Screw it all the way in,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], put the brakes together and put the drum on. Adjust the brakes out a little at a time until they just rub the drum when you put it on.
This may seem like a lot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but they are really pretty easy to do. Take your time and remember the order in which you took things off.
